Andrea Hinnen

Born and raised in Switzerland, I majored and graduated my studies in window display.
Subsequently I followed my career as a window dresser for a while, working for well known department stores in Zurich and Geneva, until the day I remembered my passion for textiles.
At the age of 23, I moved to New York City to study at the renowned fashion college F.I.T. Textile Design. My courses were fast track and full time for the period of one year.
My plan was to go back to Switzerland after getting the degree. Nevertheless, after graduating from F.I.T., I was given a work permit to work in the big Apple’s Textile Industry for one year.
I have worked seven years in N.Y. as a fulltime textile designer for several big American Fashion companies and as a freelance designer; I have sold my original textile artwork to many famous American fashion labels like Gap, Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, Nautica, J. Crew, etc.

With the vast working experience I earned in New York I eventually moved to Andalusia in the south of Spain.
It was in Cádiz, Andalusia, where I had the courage to call my textile design creations AQUABOOT.

Every Vision goes through three moments
before to be admitted.
In the first time it is ridiculized,
In the second time it is strongly opposed.
In the third time it is recognized as obvious.
